The 45-Minute Focus Trick That Keeps You Energized

Hey, it’s Joel from Lofizen.

You know that feeling when you’re completely lost in work? Sometimes it’s great—you’re deep in flow, knocking tasks out like a machine. But then…

  • You forget to take breaks and end up exhausted.

  • You realize you haven’t eaten, and it’s way past lunchtime.

  • You rush through other tasks because time slipped away.

I’ve been there. That’s why I use Lofizen’s timer function to work in focused 45-minute bursts, followed by a strategic break.

The Trick? Plan Your Breaks—Before You Start

Before diving into work, I write down what I’ll do during my break. This way, I avoid mindless scrolling and actually recharge for the next session.

Here are my three favorite ways to reset:

1. Dance Break

I put on an energizing song and invite my wife to join me. Just one song. It’s a quick boost of fun and connection. My wife loves these!

2. Physical Challenge

I challenge myself to do for example push-ups—not a full workout, just enough to wake my body up. How many can I do with good form before fatigue sets in?

3. Secondary Tasks

A break doesn’t have to be wasted time. If the dishwasher needs emptying, I put on a good song and get it done. It clears my space and my mind while the physical task gets the blood flowing and joints moving.

A good break includes moving the body, avoiding devices, and leaving the workroom. If you incorporate these three elements once every 45 minutes, you’ll never feel fatigued!

Try It for Yourself

Next time you start a focus session in Lofizen, set a 45-minute timer and write down beforehand how you’ll spend your break. Whether it’s movement, music, or a quick reset task, you’ll come back feeling fresh and ready to go.

Stay focused. Take smart breaks. Use Lofizen.
